It's Christine Blair with one more blog post to share the awesome story of our rental car that we affectionately nicknamed Man Car. I just typed out a long post with pictures and I am pretty sure I accidentally deleted it. Oh well, if you get this story twice, it will just send up double the praise to the Lord.
We had quite the week. While in Kentucky meeting up with the Cernoias, our van's engine seized with no warning and we were told that, other than putting a new engine in, it was unfixable. After praying and looking at all of our options, we made the decision to rent a car, continue on with our plans with the Cernoias to travel to Pittsburgh, and then to fly out of Pittsburgh Airport.
We started searching for a one-way car rental. Even using Doug's corporate discounts, the quotes we were getting were ridiculous. $169 or more per day. Because we had had so much success with Priceline for our hotels, we decided to try to Priceline our rental car. Wowee!! What good deals we got!! We were able to rent a full size car one-way for $70. Our airline ticket prices and hotel prices were amazing also. Love the Priceline!!
When Doug and Elizabeth went to pick up the rental car, the man told them that he couldn't understand how it went through because he didn't have that car on the lot. He actually only had two vehicles on the lot. They only Priceline vehicles when they have an abundance. He ended up upgrading Doug to the best vehicle they had - a luxury oversized SUV with three rows of seats. As Dyl would say, it was "epicly awesome!!" Over and over, little things would happen where we felt the Lord saying, "No need to stress. I'm on the throne."
Here is a picture of Man Car with all of the guys in it:
Here is a picture of Women Car, a much nicer place to be in my humble opinion!!
It was so much fun joining the Cernoias on a tiny little stretch of their grand adventure. I've told Elizabeth that I would gladly pay for a copy of the book should they decide to make one from all of their blogs. Don't you all think that it has been exciting to be reading along each day?
Please keep the Cernoias in prayer as they prepare to head south again!!
