Geysers, Grizzlies, and Wolves. Oh my!

At the end of our lazy day in Yellowstone National Park (no, we did not spend it in Yellowstone, I mean who would!? {Sarcasm strikes again!}) we drove to see Old Faithful.  Now of all the wackiness that infests Yellowstone, one of my favorites is the collision of two natural elements.  When Old Faithful goes off it produces a huge amount of steam, (which for the record, off-sets the amount of water that comes out) but if the sun is setting at just the right moment to catch the steam in it's light, it provides one of the greatest effects in all of my recollection.

Today, which for your information, we did not spend in Yellowstone either, was spent first trying to discover how much it would cost to take a horseback ride in the park (coupled with the 3 hour drive it was a 'no-go').  So, plan B: we went to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.  The focus was mostly on grizzlies in the discovery center (big surprise!), but not for us.  Dylan's favorite animal is the wolf, which means that in every zoo or park that we stop the wolf become our priority.  Wolves, at least in the discovery center, are very lazy, only getting up at meal times!  No wonder Dylan likes them!!!  At meals (which we got to watch) the wolves display an odd habit.  Instead of finding their meat and eating right away, they bring it to a secluded spot, leave it there and go forage for more, until they can't find any other pieces of meat.  It is at this point that they finally taste their dinner.

As a side note wolves can go without eating for 6 days, even though the ones in the discovery center do not.  Tomorrow we shall depart for Uncle Steve's place!

P.S.  Yet again we find our selves internet challenged, so pictures are to come and you really don't want to miss them!
