Water And Sky

Yesterday we were in St. Louis, and THE stop in the capital of Missouri is the St. Louis Gateway Arch.  The Arch was made as two reasons: first as a memorial to Thomas Jefferson, and second, as a memorial to all those who went west.  As a point of fact St Louis was the place where most pioneers started out on their journey to California.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!  Of course Dyl didn't think it was awesome because he doesn't like heights!  Well, several places on this road trip have been "fear embodied" for Dyl, the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and the Arch.  But what is isn't phobic to Dylan is water which was the theme of today!

We stopped in Clarksville, TN we got together with my mom's long time friends Bob and Laurie Key (you might remember that we stopped here on our way West, but it was such a short visit that we stopped back).  The Key's took us out on their boat.  We learned to water ski, to knee board, and to tube (you don't really have to "learn" how to tube... well maybe you do, you'll see what I'm talking about in the video)  They are all super fun but rather hard to explain, so we will reveal a new discovery...video!  It's not really new, but it's the first time we've had the chance to use it.  Hope you like it!

  3. And if only I had gotten his REAL spill! He was on the tube alone and the wipe-out was EPIC...several mid-air cartwheels, total rag-doll arms and legs everywhere; it was wild! Luckily it happened so fast and he was up and shaking water out of his ears that I knew he was ok :-). But no time to get the camera going, bummer. Good times!
