Today we went tubing down the Angmis river. It was a blast! But the best, most exciting and wettest parts were the rapids! Unfortunately (and fortunately) we did not bring the camera. Unfortunate, because we have no pics (and we all know how much I love putting pictures in my blogs, and if you don't know my mom **loves** taking pictures - ah, a match made in heaven!). But the fortunate part about no camera is that we got SOAKED! Beyond just a good solid soaking, the rapids can also take shoes. Trust me, I know, I was shoeless by the end.
A moment of silence please.....................
Also a moment silence for my feet..................................
You have to walk to shore at the end of your adventure, and then you have to walk to the car after a short van ride. The rocks are as sharp as broadswords. They hurt like crazy!! But I would do it again in a heartbeat (except next time with sandals). It was so much fun!
To round out a beautiful day in Durango, CO we did laundry, played some board games and had a delicious dinner of apples, cheese and Triscuits (have you tried the garlic ones? Awesome!!!). I think we've got our traveling legs back under us and we are all looking forward to undertaking the trip home!
So Long,
Dyl (and some mom)
P.S. We had planned this morning to attend a Christian Church in Durango, but the times got messed up and so we ended up across the street at the Baptist church...don't really know what any of that means, except that we had an amazing time! The best worship we've had the whole trip - fantastic!! And an amazing slide show about a trip to Africa - wow! And then an incredible message. Really an all around great day!
